Of the 32 cases reported to the health department on Thursday, 13 were of residents or workers at long-term care facilities, 10 were infections caught out of state, four were through household contacts, three were attributed to community spread, one was in a health care setting, and one was caught at a workplace.
Dr. David Damsker, the health department director, advised anyone traveling out of state, especially to COVID-19 hot spots, to take precautions and closely monitor their health for two weeks following their return. He suggested avoiding visiting older or higher risk relatives and staying away from gatherings.
“We’ve had (cases from) Florida, Texas, Arizona and New Jersey over the last several days,” Damsker said. “Over the past week we’ve seen more and more people getting sick in other states and then coming back to Bucks County …. That’s why we need to keep our guard up.”
