A 33-year-old man has been charged after being involved in a crash while using a stolen motorcycle, according to Penndel Borough police.
Police in Penndel Borough responded to the 300 block of West Lincoln Highway on Friday, June 12 for a crash involving a motorcycle. The motorcyclist – Robert Baker, of Levittown – told officers he swerved to avoid stopped traffic and struck a vehicle trying to enter a parking lot, causing minor damage to both vehicles, authorities said.

While police were investigating the crash, Baker got on the motorcycle and started the engine before being detained after it was determined his driver’s license was suspended and there was worry he would flee, authorities said.
Police said they found the motorcycle Baker was using was stolen out of Falls Township and the owner had no idea who the 33-year-old man was.
Baker was taken to St. Mary Medical Center for evaluation of injuries.

Baker was charged last week with receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while operator privilege suspended or revoked, careless driving, illegal use of plate/card, and operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility. He was arraigned by District Judge Daniel Baranoski and jailed on 10 percent of $25,000.
