NEARBY: 22-Year-Old Man Dies In River

An intense Sunday search of the Delaware River in Lower Bucks County was connected to a New Jersey incident.

LevittownNow.com readers reported seeing numerous boats and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter in the river in the area of Neshaminy State Park in Bensalem and Bristol Township throughout Sunday afternoon and evening.

According to Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, police in Burlington, New Jersey, were notified of a man who went swimming near a riverfront boat ramp with friends and the group became separated. A search involving numerous local New jersey fire companies, rescue squads, police, and the Coast Guard, including a 29-foot response boat and a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, lasted for hours.

By evening, the New Jersey State Police recovered the 22-year-old man near Delanco, New Jersey, and he was pronounced deceased.

The swimmer was identified as Brayan Tenecela, according to Fox 29.
