A police chase following a carjacking started in Mercer County and ended in Falls Township.
Tomasz Dymek, 31, of Astoria, Queens, New York City, was being held in Bucks County as of Friday awaiting an extradition hearing to New Jersey after the chase.

According to police in Ewing, New Jersey,ย authorities began receiving calls Thursday that a vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a CVS in that New Jersey municipality. Callers to 9-1-1 followed the vehicle and provided updates to dispatchers, who relayed them to officers. In Trenton, a Ewing detective approached the vehicle when it stopped but it sped away. Additional officers chased the vehicle as it cross from Mercer County to Pennsylvania on Route 1. During the case, the vehicle “became disabled” in the area of Lincoln Highway and Tyburn Road in Falls Township.
Dymek attempted to flee on foot but was quickly arrested by officers, police said.
Upon further investigation, police learned thatย Dymek allegedly asked two women in Ewing for money. One of the women was sitting in her vehicle. One of the women handed over a dollar bill, which angered the 31-year-old man.

โDymek was not satisfied with the dollar so he forced his way into the victimโs vehicle and drove from the lot, sitting on top of her in the driverโs seat,โ police said in a statement.
Dymek reportedly sat on top of the 66-year-old Trenton woman and operated the woman’s vehicle. The woman was unable to hit the brake.

Following the case, the 66-year-old woman was checked out by medics and taken to the Ewing police station to give a statement.
Charges against Dymek in New Jersey are pending, police said.
