Route 1 northbound was blocked for a short time Tuesday afternoon for a dump truck fire.
Thick black smoke poured from the rear of a dump truck that was pulled onto the shoulder of the highway just past the Fairless Hills exit at Stony Hill Road in Falls Township just before 2:30 p.m.

Firefighters from the Falls Township and Morrisville fire companies responded and put down the flames.
The northbound lanes of the highway were blocked for about 15 minutes, causing a roughly two mile backup.
