A little more than a month ago, nearly everybody expected that Bucks County Technical High School’s Bristol Township campus would have been filled with a large number of people walking in laps this Sunday.
The COVID-19 pandemic ended up cancelling the planned spring #HoldOnYouMatter Walk, which raises funds and awareness for suicide prevention.

Instead, organizers have exchanged the in-person walk to a virtual event that will take place Sunday at 6 p.m. on Facebook. The event will feature guests, interaction from participants, and performances.
Organizers have assembled virtual fundraising teams to support the cause.
Over the past six years, the #HoldOnYouMatter walks have raised more than $275,000. In 2019, the event raised $75,000.

“The coronavirus will not stop us from having hope, nor will it keep us apart,” said Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force Coordinator Kyle Esposito. “Our community is strong, generous and united. Throughout the month of April we’ve encouraged the heroes on the front lines, and those staying physically distanced to support them. Let’s encourage one another and get through this together!”
The fall walk in Upper Bucks County is expected to be held.
