Area schools districts are stepping up to offer meals to students in non-congregate settings during the two-week closure due to COVID-19.

As of Sunday afternoon, the Bristol Borough and Pennsbury school districts announced plans to make meals for students.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education obtained a waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for student meals.
For many low-income students across the country, meals from schools are an important part of their diet.

Bristol Borough School District:
Children will be able to access breakfast and lunch courtesy of the Bristol Borough School District starting on Tuesday, March 17th. Meals will be available at both the high school and elementary buildings between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Absolutely no application is necessary. Meals are completely free. No one will be permitted to enter the buildings. Meals will need to be picked up and taken home.
Bristol Township School District:
Bristol Township, Our children can enjoy delicious free breakfasts and lunches provided by the Bristol Township School District Food Service Department. The district will utilize the Emergency Meal Plan Program eligibility through a waiver from the state to serve children 18 years and younger during this closure. A bagged grab and go breakfast and lunch will be available at the below locations from 11am-1pm starting March 17, 2020. Children must be present to receive meals.
Absolutely no application is necessary! Meals are completely free and anyone is welcome to come to the designated locations. No one will be permitted to enter the buildings. Meals will need to be picked up and taken home. Vegetarian options will be available. Our goal is to make sure all children have access to healthy food during the closure and come back ready and nourished to learn.

Neshaminy School District:
Neshaminy School District is pleased to announce that starting tomorrow (Monday, March 16), our Food Services Department will be offering free meals to all students enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program meal plan. Two bagged “grab and go” meals (breakfast & lunch) will be provided to each student.

We thank our Food Services Department for managing this program and urge all eligible families to keep their kids strong with a healthy breakfast & lunch during this closure.
Pennsbury School District:
Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, Pennsbury students may enjoy free, nutritious brunch meals provided by The Nutrition Group, the District’s food service provider. The District is able to distribute this food to serve children 18 years and younger during the time period that schools remain closed.
Pre-bagged, Grab-and-Go brunch meals will be available at the Pennsbury High School East bus dock, located at 705 Hood Boulevard in Fairless Hills, each weekday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No application is required, but children must be present to receive meals. A student name and current school must be provided.
Meals are completely free and will be distributed in a drive-through fashion. No one will be permitted to enter the building. Cars will be directed to form a line, and we ask for patience with this process as we work together to serve the needs of our children. Meals must be picked up and taken home. Our goal is to make sure all children have access to healthy food during the closure and return nourished and ready to learn.
Members of the Bristol Borough community are also stepping up by offering take-home breakfasts for students who may need it Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Elks Lodge 970 at 95 Wood Street while school is out.
