Veteran Actress Visits With Bristol Twp. High School Students



A veteran actress with a number of Broadway and TV credits visited students at Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township last Friday.

Actress Elaine Bromkaย brought two theatre workshops to Truman drama students. The high schoolers took part in Acting on Camera and Acting for Singers workshops where students honed their craft and took lessons from a professional.

โ€œOur students having the ability to learn from and make professional connections from such a talent was an amazing experience,โ€ said drama program director and teacher Tracey Gatte. โ€œThey are learning how to enhance their talents and network at the same time.โ€

Gatte andย Bromka met a workshop is New York City last fall. In January,ย Gatteโ€™s students worked with Bromka at the Pennsylvania State Thespian Festival.

Bromka is known for her Broadway performances in “The Rose Tattoo and “Iโ€™m Not Rappaport and Macbeth.” She also continues to tour off-Broadway with “TEA FOR THREE: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty.” Over the years, the Emmy award winner has made appearances in the TV series “Sex and the City,” “Girls,” “E.R.,” “The Sopranos,” “Providence,” “Dharma and Greg,” “Law and Order,” “Days of Our Lives,”ย “Playing for Time,” and “Catch a Rainbow.” Her role as Cindy in theย 1989 film “Uncle Buck” helped make her well-known.
