The Bucks County Board of Elections – made up of county commissioners Bob Harvie, Diane Ellis-Marseglia, and Gene DiGirolamo – earlier this month voted to move Middletown Upper 1 and Middletown Upper 5 from the closed Oliver Heckman Elementary School on Cherry Street on the Langhorne Borough and Middletown to the Langhorne United Methodist Church at 301 East Maple Avenue, which sits about 700 feet from the closed school and is also on the municipal line.
Election officials said earlier this month that the school is beginning to fall into disrepair. The judge of elections for the site has also reported the school had a “moldy, musty smell.”
A representative of the polling site said there were no musty smells and pushed back on rumors there were problems with the school.
