Friday Water Outage Caused By Power Problem

Many Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority customers in the Levittown area had issues with their service early Friday afternoon.

The outage caused some customers to have low water pressure, just a trickle around, or no water service at all around noontime.

Vijay Rajput, the managing director for the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority, said the issue was caused by a “sudden power outage” at the water plant.

Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority workers started emergency generators to restore power. Shortly after, PECO power was restored and full service was restored, Rajput said.

The Lower Bucks Joint Municipal Authority serves roughly 23,000 customers between Bristol Township, Falls Township, Middletown and Tullytown.
