Two Thursday burglaries in Bristol Borough may be connected to a string of similar incidents throughout Bucks County.

Annabella’s Italian Restaurant on Radcliffe Street and Chuck’s BBQ on Pond Street in the borough were hit early Thursday and their empty cash registers were opened. Investigators believe the two burglaries are connected.

Recent burglaries with a similar style have taken place in Bensalem, Langhorne Borough, Newtown Borough, New Hope, and Upper Makefield. In many cases, entry is typically made through a window early in the morning. The suspect goes for the cash register, skipping other items that might be easily fenced. And there seem to be similarities in the appearance of the burglar from videos taken at the various crime scenes, according to a review of cases by LevittownNow.com news partner New Hope Free Press.

While it’s certainly not uncommon for burglars to enter through broken windows, target cash registers, or wear hoodies, face coverings and sneakers, police from the various jurisdictions seem to be taking notice of similarities in the recent break-ins.

“We believe the actor is possibly associated with other burglaries taking place within the county,” Henry said of the suspect in Bristol Borough.

New Hope Police Chief Mike Cummings said his investigators were “coordinating and sharing all our evidence with these police departments.”
