A crane operator carefully placed the “Bucks” and then “County” signs on the gravel at the start of Mill Street on Tuesday morning.
The 2,400-pound steel sign that travels the county will stay at the pocket park of Mill Street Crossing at Mill Street and Old Route 13 in Bristol Borough through May.

The idea behind the sign, which is owned by local tourism agency Visit Bucks County, is designed to create a cool photo backdrop for visitors and locals. It has proved popular in other area towns.
Bill Pezza, chair of Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar, was pleased with the sign and it’s location at the foot of the borough’s growing central business district. As the sign was lowered, he live streamed the event onto Facebook.
Visit Bucks County debuted the sign last year. It has previously been located in New Hope, Peddler’s Village, Quakertown’s central business district, and Shady Brook Farm.
