Hundreds of students gathered at Maple Point Middle School in Middletown on Monday to create Blessing Bags for nonprofit Angels in Motion, an organization that was founded by a mother whose son was struggling with addiction and on the streets.
The bags created by students on the day of service had a variety of snack items, notes of hope, and information on how to seek help. The students also made hundreds of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for distribution.
Fifth graders handled the notes of hope, middle schoolers packed the bags and made sandwiches, and high schoolers double-checked their assembly.
