The townhome is owned by Woods Services. One staff member and one resident were inside and relocated after the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Jim Bampfield, a Middletown fire inspector, said the accidental was caused by a fan in the bathroom.

Farry said the call came out as an alarm and quickly upgraded to a working fire call after the engine arrived on the scene.

The fire engine operated by the Middletown Department of Fire and Emergency Management is based across the street at the Municipal Complex and arrived first. They were quickly followed by several other fire companies.

The quick response was credited with stopping the fire before it spread further.
