A group of Harry S. Truman High School students came in top places at a regional competition.
Last month before the holiday break, 24 Truman students competed in the District 10 DECA Conference and Competition at Temple University in Philadelphia. DECA is an organization for students with an interest in leadership and entrepreneurship in the fields of in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

The district said 21 of the 24 Truman students that competed placed among the top of their categories. They will now move on to the State Leadership Conference and Competition in Hershey from February 19 to 21.
“I am so very proud of my ‘kids’,” said Truman’s DECA Advisor Angela Owarzani. “They work so hard and to see the excitement on their faces when it pays off is priceless for me. My kids are the best.”
Students who win at the Hershey statewide competition will advance to the national contest this April in Nashville.
