Last Local Baby Of 2019 & First Of 2020 Welcomed

The change from 2019 to 2020 was full of new life in Lower Bucks County.

At around 11:15 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, medics from the Bucks County Rescue Squad were transporting a mother-to-be from Bristol Township to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown when the baby decided she couldn’t wait any longer.

Bucks County Rescue Squad Chief Marty Liczbinski said EMTs Mike DaGrossa and Alyssa Baran and Paramedic Blake Sullivan were on the ambulance when the baby girl was born while they were heading to the hospital.

“Mom and baby are doing well,” Liczbinski said, noting how uncommon it is that a mother gives birth in an ambulance.

A few hours later at St. Mary Medical Center, the labor and delivery team welcomed the first baby born in Lower Bucks County in 2020 at 2:26 a.m. on New Year’s Day, hospital spokesperson Christy McCabe said.

Baby King Fisher was born to mother Mecca Davis Pringle, a Bensalem resident. King weighed 6.8 pounds and 20 inches long.
