When Can I Throw Out My Christmas Tree?

Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to get rid of that evergreen that’s just sitting in your living room.

Bristol Borough

Christmas trees can be disposed of during a special yard waste pick up on Saturday, January 4. After that, Christmas trees can be placed with regular trash on Tuesdays and Fridays. Trees need to be cleaned of tinsel, bulbs, and all lights and tree bags.

Bristol Township:

Christmas trees will be collected curbside during the week of January 6 and January 20 on residents’ regular trash day. Decorations and lights must be removed first.

Falls Township:

Curbside collection of Christmas trees for composting will be Saturday, January 11 and Saturday, January 25. Trees over six feet long must be cut in half. The township notes all plastic bags and decorations must be removed from the tree. Waste Management will have a free-to-use tree collection container at their scale house at 1400 Bordentown Road through the month of January.

Middletown Township:

Christmas trees will be picked up on Wednesday, January 8, 15, 22, and 29. Decorations must be removed from trees and trees should not be placed in plastic bags.
