Pennsylvania State Police, who patrol Hulmeville Borough when the part-time municipal department is off duty, were called on Wednesday, September 11 around 1:45 a.m. to Ford Avenue for a disturbance call. They further learned that Nicholas’ ex-girlfriend was calling to report he was attempting to get into her home and she was hiding on the second floor, according to court papers.
Three troopers arrived at the Ford Avenue home and located Nicholas outside the residence next to a broken window, state police said.
Nicholas reportedly told state police he traveled to his former girlfriend’s home because he thought she was inside with another man. He allegedly admitted to breaking a window with a rock from a garden.

“This is what happens when you don’t think,” Nicholas reportedly told troopers. “Love will make you do crazy things.”
Nicholas’ ex-girlfriend said the couple had broken up the day prior and that she was awoken by screaming and banging from outside. She said Nicholas was not welcome at her residence since the relationship ended, state police said.
