After nearly eight years on the Pennsbury School Board, member Jacqui Redner has stepped down.
The school board voted Thursday evening to accept the resignation of Render, who told LevittownNow.com she recently moved out of the district.

“I wish Pennsbury well and all the best, and it holds a special place in my heart,” she said in a brief phone interview.
The letter of resignation was sent Wednesday and Redner was not in attendance at Thursday’s meeting.
Board Vice President Christian Schwartz commended Redner on her time serving the district and her achievements, including bringing full-day kindergarten and mental health and substance abuse programs to Pennsbury.

Redner, who had previously served as president, represented Region Two in Falls Township and her seat is open for replacement. The district has 30 days to fill the seat.
School Board President T.R. Kannan said resumes from Region Two residents who are interested in filling the spot could be sent to district CFO Christopher Berdnik at cberdnik@pennsburysd.org before next Thursday.

Unrelated to Redner’s resignation, Schwartz thanked the community for helping his family as his wife undergoes cancer treatment. He said there is still a road to recovery ahead, but the visits and messages from friends and even strangers has cheered her up.
