A proposed change to the General Business District Zoning regulations related to the plan for upscale apartments at the Oxford Valley Mall complex will be discussed before the Middletown Planning Commission on Wednesday.
An overview of the proposal from mall owner Simon Property Group and Villanova-based CornerstoneTracy was teased before the Board of Supervisors in August. Wednesday’s meeting will deal with changes to the General Business District Zoning to allow for the construction of a 390- and 210-unit building that would feature a fitness center, indoor and outdoor common spaces, dog park, pools, and full-time management, maintenance, and concierge services like dog walking on site.

In LevittownNow.com‘s exclusive story on the proposed mall redevelopment plan last month, CornerstoneTracy co-owner David Della Porta said the complex’s two buildings would be four stories tall and feature their own parking structures.
The entire complex would be constructed on roughly 20 acres that is a parking lot and the closed Boscov’s anchor store. About 165,000 square feet of the mall, the entire former Boscov’s location, would have to be knocked down.
The addition of the apartments to the mall is seen as a potential catalyst to the larger redevelopment of the mall being considered by Simon Property Group.

The Middletown Planning Commission meeting will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the municipal building.
