More than 300 kids were able to enjoy the St. Ann’s Carnival and Italian Festival at no cost Tuesday evening.

Brothers Ernie and Pat DeCaro, the owners of industrial remediation contractor Bristol Environmental, sponsored the evening that was enjoyed by the kids. Bristol Borough police put together the event with carnival organizers.

The kids were able to enjoy the rides, food, and prizes at no cost. The event caused the carnival to open early to accommodate the group.

“The value of an opportunity for a situation like this, where the community and police can interact in a positive atmosphere cannot be overstated,” borough police Chief Steve Henry said.

As police were determining whether they should hold a National Night Out event earlier this year, Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe suggested hosting an event at St. Ann’s Carnival and Italian Festival instead.

Henry thanked Bristol Environmental and carnival organizers for making the event possible.
