Chuck’s BBQ in Bristol Borough is changing direction.

The business that Chase and Colleen Guernsey and Chris Schmitt opened in winter 2018 at 2 Pond Street, right near the Mill Street Parking Lot, announced they’re closing their location as they put a “heavier focus on food truck events and catering, including drop-off and large pick-up orders.” The street-front location stopped serving customers on Wednesday.

The Pond Street location will open for the final First Friday of the season in September. Colleen Guernsey said Chuck’s BBQ owns the building and will likely reopen for big events in the borough’s central business district.

“As the Bristol location goes, we are staying and hoping for bigger things to come if things work out the way we want,” she said.

Colleen Guernsey explained the food truck – titled the Chuckwagon – and catering business are booked for at least the next two years, which has helped focus the business’ future.

The business often posts the food truck location on social media so customers can find them and grab a meal.

Chucks BBQ is also working on adding another food truck.

Earlier this year, Colleen Guernsey said the growing event catering business has served everything from business meetings to holiday parties and weddings.

The three who started Chuck’s BBQ have years of experience in the food service industry, including at high-end restaurants.
