A Bristol Township man has been charged after alleged child pornography was found on his phone.

According to court papers, police encountered Aubrey Tyrone Murdaugh, 27, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, at Falls Township Community Park on the afternoon of June 12. He had a black cell phone that attracted the attention of officers.

Police did not release full details in court papers, but said they confiscated the phone after they had reasonable suspicion it contained evidence of a crime.

A search warrant was obtained and a Lower Makefield detective with forensic cell phone examination training looked at the device. He discovered numerous images depicting sexual images of minors.

In court papers, police said they uncovered 16 sexual images of girls between the ages of 8 to 16 years old on Murdaugh’s phone. The images contained lewd poses and indecent contact.

Police said they have not identified the children in the pictures and continue their probe. They have also forwarded a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Murdaugh was arraigned Tuesday afternoon on a single count of child pornography. He was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $250,000.
