Power service was on and off for thousands of PECO customers.

During and following Wednesday evening storms, weather-related damage caused problems across Lower Bucks County, PECO spokesman Greg Smore said, noting that 25,000 customers throughout the Philadelphia region lost service at the peak of the storms.

Early Thursday morning, about 6,000 customers through Lower Bucks County lost service. The power was restored for most by daybreak, but additional weather-related outages hit the Levittown area throughout the day.

As of 6:45 p.m., about 120 customers mainly centered around Levittown remained without service.

Smore said PECO brought in additional contracted crews and workers from utility companies in New York and Virginia to assist in getting service restored.
