A pothole-laden bridge that the state lists as being in “poor” condition will be rehabilitated over the next year.
No start date has been announced, but PennDOT confirmed Wednesday that the Big Oak Road bridge over I-295 in Middletown near the Lower Makefield border will be repaired and rehabilitated.

The precast concrete bridge that crosses the highway was built in 1967 and carries 8,100 vehicles per day.
The 210-foot span has been rated by inspectors as being in “poor” condition although it remains open to traffic, according to PennDOT data.
The work will be completed along with seven other bridges in Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties. All the bridges should have rehabilitation work completed by late 2020, PennDOT officials said.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in late 2020.
