Power issues along Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor, which runs through Lower Bucks County, caused problems Wednesday morning.

The issues started around 10:30 a.m. when an overhead power problem between Trenton and Philadelphia caused a full stop. The problem was resolved around 11:30 a.m. and some limited service in Pennsylvania and New Jersey did resume, according to Amtrak.

Despite some service being restored, delays were widespread along Amtrak’s intercity service.

A SEPTA spokesperson said at 11:50 a.m. that Trenton Regional Rail Line service remained suspended due to the Amtrak issue. SEPTA uses Amtrak rails on the Trenton Line.

During the full halt, Amtrak trains stopped along the Northeast Corridor tracks. Gothamist in New York reported that passengers suffered fainting and panic attacks on struck trains.
