
A 15-year-old Penndel boy died hours after he was pulled from a swollen creek in Levittown.
The teen, whose name was not released by police, was pronounced dead at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia early Thursday morning. His body was taken by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, police confirmed.

The teen fell out of a kayak and was swept under the current in the rain-swollen Mill Creek just off Snowball Drive near Silverspruce Lane in Middletown’s Levittown section shortly before 8:30 p.m. during Wednesday’s storms.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and pulled the teen’s body from the creek, performing chest compressions as they rushed him to a waiting ambulance.

After being transported to St. Mary Medical Center, the boy was initially reported to have a pulse, police Chief Joseph Bartorilla said, adding the boy was later transported to CHOP in Philadelphia.

A firefighter who worked to rescue the teen was taken from the scene in the an ambulance. He did not appear to be seriously injured.
Police spoke with several witnesses at the scene, including three soaked teenagers.
