
A home in Tullytown was damaged after an apparent bolt of lightning struck it.
The owner of the home in the 300 block of Wood Street was awakened by Monday morning’s strong thunderstorm and heard a loud crack. Minutes later, he heard the unmistakable crackling of fire and 9-1-1 was called around 4:50 a.m., Tullytown Fire Company Chief Aaron Cohen said.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the blaze that spread from the eaves of the home and into the attic in about 30 minutes, Cohen said.
No injuries were reported.
The home sustained fire and water damage.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents following the blaze, Cohen said.
Tullytown firefighters were assisted by crews from the American, Hose, Hook, and Ladder, Falls Township, Edgely, and Levittown No. 1 fire companies.
