Fehlinger spoke on several topics including the historical aspect of air quality and how weather can greatly impact the air we breathe. She also discussed the different types of air pollution that exist and the effects they have on not only the environment but everyone’s health as well.
Fehlinger stressed what makes the air quality issue so important is that everyone needs air to breathe in order to survive and while some age groups like infants, children and seniors are more affected, we all are impacted each and every day by it. Fehlinger ended her presentation talking about the public awareness impact and how CBS 3 will alert viewers when air quality is bad on its news shows. She also commended DVRPC and TMA Bucks for taking that message to the region including Bucks County to make people aware of the issue and things they can do to help further educate the community.
TMA Bucks has daily air quality forecasts on its website and will send out social media alerts on Air Quality Ozone Action Days. In order to increase awareness of the Delaware Valleyโs air quality problem and educate businesses, governments, and the general public on steps to take to reduce smog-forming pollutants, TMA Bucks educates the public and business community in Bucks County about the Air Quality Partnership in Bucks County. They are always looking for businesses and organizations in Bucks County that want to become partners and share tips with employees or residents to reduce air pollution and protect their health from air pollution.
