A small fire at a Levittown laundromat was quickly stopped on Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the Jay Laundromat in the Violetwood Shopping Center at Mill Creek Road and Orangewood Drive in Bristol Township’s Levittown section at 1:17 p.m. for a report of a blaze in the ceiling.

Edgely Fire Company Chief Brian Cirard said crews arrived and were able to halt the flames before they spread further in the ceiling. He added the fire was stopped within 10 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the fire was caused by paper-backed insulation up against an exhaust pipe.

The fire was discovered by employees at the neighboring pizza shop who spotted smoke coming down from their ceiling, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.
Crews from the Bristol Township Fire Marshal’s Office responded along with the Croydon, Edgely, Fairless Hills, Levittown No. 2, Newportville, Third District, and William Penn fire companies. The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad stood by at the scene.
