Two Area Middle Schools Up For Fitness Equipment Grant

Two area middle schools are in the running for a grant that would provide new fitness equipment and related curriculum.

Yogurt company Dannon is sponsoring the $25,000 grant that has open voting online through Thursday, February 28.

Maple Point Middle School in Middletown and William Penn Middle School in Lower Makefield are hoping to win the grant that will provide state-of-the-art outdoor and indoor fitness equipment, related curriculum, and staff training.

The program is part of national nonprofit Project Fit America that creates and donates fitness in education programming for elementary and middle schools.
