Warm temperatures and sunny skies greeted fifth graders at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School in Falls Township Monday afternoon as they took part in the ninth annual Super Duper Bowl.
The annual flag football tournament involved the entire school raising money for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and collecting canned goods for the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter in Bristol Township.

The squads of fifth graders, whose teams are named after their teachers, braved the muddy conditions on the field during the game.
This year, the Kean Kongs won the Super Duper Bowl.
Aside from being a fun activity, the game teaches kids good sportsmanship and ties in with the school’s character education initiative of teaching and showing respect, responsibility, and cooperation.

While the game was being played, kids in younger grades cheered from the sidelines and held up signs of support.
Due to the extreme cold, the game was moved from last Friday to Monday.
