Gusty winds blew into the Levittown area following an intense snow squall Wednesday afternoon.

Following the quick blast of snow, strong winds led to power outages that impacted a little more than 2,000 PECO customers in Bristol Township, Langhorne Borough, Langhorne Manor, Penndel, and Middletown at its peak. Traffic lights along Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and the I-95 ramp and Veterans Highway (Route 413) were impacted by the outage.

Due to the evening power outage, Bucks County Community College cancelled and closed their Gene and Marlene Epstein Campus in Bristol Township.

By 8 p.m., PECO’s outage map showed the majority of customers in the Levittown area had power restored.

The National Weather Service predicted overnight temperatures around 4 degrees with the windchill dropping to -12 degrees. Winds were expected to die down during the evening.
