Tasty Land Kitchen seeks to bring a different kind of Mediterranean dining experience to a Lower Bucks County dominated by Italian restaurants and pizza parlors.
Located at 1701 Farragut Avenue in Bristol Borough, the restaurant is co-owned and operated by father and son Anwar Abusaif and Nedal Abusaif with help from Kristiana Hata.

“There is something different about Bristol,” Anwar Abusaif said. “It’s a great neighborhood, that’s why we decided to start here. I’ve worked in three different countries: Jordan, Egypt and now America.”
According to Hata, Abusaif “was a big chef back in the Middle East. He just wanted to share his good food. So far, people have been liking it.”
Tasty Land Kitchen’s menu includes Mediterranean standbys such as marinated lamb and shepherd salad, Kufta, Luma, chicken gyro sandwiches, and skewers. Hummus, tzatziki, and baba ghanoush feature among the sides. Earlier this month, homemade lentil soup and baklava were added to the menu.

Hata says that the restaurant’s most popular options include its mu-sa-khan sandwiches and falafel, with the recipe for the latter coming from Anwar’s grandfather.
Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, depending on how you look at it, the restaurant offers cheesesteaks and other Philly-area mainstays alongside their Greek cuisine. But these sandwiches mix tomatoes alongside with steak, with optional fried onions and mushrooms.

“We try to take that touch of Philly to create a new one just for Bristol. It has our own Mediterranean twist,” Abusaif explained.

The restaurant’s grand opening was held on December 15 with demand higher than expected.
“So far, things have gone very well,” Hata said. “People have been giving us positive feedback. We’ve been raising the bar since we’ve come in, and it has been great.”

“We definitely have regulars already which makes us extremely happy, we also have new people who are not familiar with this kind of food. We give them some samples. We don’t want them to order blind,” explained Hata.
The restaurant’s marketing has sought to emphasize health benefits associated with Mediterranean food, recently citing a CNN article hyping the dietary benefits of Greek cuisine.

“We use bright ale oils, fresh meat, lentil soup, we try to use the best materials possible,” Hata said.
Aside from the items in their usual menu, the restaurant has offered specials such as chicken pineapple as well as special deals on discounted items on occasion.

Tasty Land Kitchen also features a loyalty program, which gives members five points for every dollar spent. A total of 250 points grants the member a $5 discount. So far, according to Abusaif, there are 40 people participating in the program, which also includes coupons and text alerts whenever the restaurant is offering specials.
Currently, the Tasty Land Kitchen is the only location, although Abusaif says that he plans to “go from this to hopefully many more” in the future. The two owners are also planning to start delivering to homes.
