A 24-year-old man who was shot Wednesday afternoon inside a Levittown home succumbed to his injuries early Thursday morning, Bristol Township police confirmed to LevittownNow.com.
Jacob Pfeifer-Johnson, a resident of Philadelphia, passed away hours after he was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center and underwent to surgery following a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

“Investigation revealed the victim had just arrived at the home on Indigo Road with his 24-year-old lifelong friend. His friend was clearing his 9mm handgun to secure it when a round was accidentally discharged in the direction of the victim,” police said in a press release.
Lt. Ralph Johnson said on Wednesday that Pfeifer-Johnson and his friend had just returned to the 80 block of Indigo Road from an errand around 2:15 p.m. when the shooting happened.
Police took the Levittown man to the station following the shooting of his friend. He was said to be cooperated with investigators.

As of Thursday afternoon, no charges were filed, but the incident remained under investigation, police said, adding the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office will review the case.
