Bristol Township Council has approved their 2019 budget with no tax increase.
The $70,340,600 spending plan with a $6.4 million spending increase over 2018 marks another year without a tax increase. The average homeowner will pay $745.69 in township real estate taxes and refuse fees.

In his budget document, Township Manager Bill McCauley said the township will put the $6.4 million to pay down a debt obligation. Taking into account the funds being used to pay back the debt, the township spending is actually down a bit less than 1 percent year over year.
The budget, which includes revenues from grants, will commit $650,000 for the ongoing blight program, $2.2 million for continued improvement of the township’s gateways, $4.2 million for the development of Municipal Complex Park, $1.7 million for roadway milling and paving, $500,000 for curb replacements, $755,000 to redo JFK Park on Snowden Avenue, $150,000 in Glasson Grants to the five volunteer fire companies, and funds for technology upgrades.
The budget also lays out $7.1 million in the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Croydon.

McCauley wrote in his budget document that department heads and employees have been the “true keys to our remarkable success.”
