The organization that owns St. Mary Medical Center will increase its minimum wage to $15 starting in the new year.
Trinity Health ministries, which operates St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown, began their journey to increase the minimum wage in 2016 and has increased their minimum pay rate annually. More than 1,500 employees will be impacted.

“Increasing the minimum wage is the right thing to do for our colleagues and the right thing to do for our community,” said James Woodward, president and CEO of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, which is comprised of Mercy Health System, St. Mary Medical Center, and Saint Francis Healthcare (Delaware). “This is a clear demonstration of the commitment to colleagues at every level of our organization.”
The organization said the pay increase shows their “commitment to ensure colleague compensation is fair and market-competitive.”
The move was announced following news from Jefferson Health planned to increase the minimum wage to $15 for more than 2,600 employees, including those at Jefferson Bucks Hospital on Oxford Valley Road in Falls Township and Magee Rehab on North Buckstown Road in Middletown.
