The Levittown Memorial American Legion Post 960 has presented an ‘Officer of the Year’ award to one of Falls Township’s finest.
Officer John Yeager received the “Officer of the Year” award during the township’s most recent Board of Supervisors meeting.

Edward Crohe III, commander of the Levittown Memorial American Legion Post 960, described Yeager as “the true meaning of patriotism” moments before presenting him with the first-ever award.
According to Crohe, Yeager, who has served 33 years on the police force, is a role model for his peers and the community, in addition to his supervisors on the police department seeking him out for advice.
Yeager is most known for overseeing the DARE drug awareness and prevention program at local schools, as well as starting the Falls Township Youth Police Academy four years ago. Yeager is also actively involved with the Community Town Watch, the shredder events, as well as assisting with police clothing donation bins.

Supervisor Chairman Bob Harvie echoed Crohe’s praise of Yeager, calling him “a very deserving officer”.
“This is truly an honor,” Yeager said after receiving the award.

Moving forward, Crohe noted that Yeager will be nominated for recognition on the national level for his service.
