Pennsbury Fills Co-Principal Role During Sabbatical Leave

One of Pennsbury High School’s assistant principals has been named the acting co-principal of the West Campus.

Cherrissa Gibson will fill the role starting in January when Pennsbury High School West Campusย Co-Principalย Lisa Becker takes a sabbatical leave.

โ€œI am very happy for Ms. Gibson and have great confidence in her leadership abilities,โ€ said Becker. โ€œThe staff will be in good hands at PHS West with Ms. Gibson at the helm. In the past five years, she has taken on a variety of leadership opportunities, and she is respected by both our colleagues and students.โ€

The school district said the co-principal role includes: “general administration of the school, staff evaluation and supervision, the development and evaluation of the educational programs, and organization of student activities. The Secondary Principal is also responsible for directing the work of Assistant Principals, counselors, and other instructional and support staff to ensure an efficiently-managed organization. Additional responsibilities include implementation of safety procedures and attending IEP meetings.”

Gibson came to Pennsbury in 2013 after working as assistantย principal at Bristol Borough High School and dean of students at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School. She also holds a spot in theย Bensalem High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
