
A 30-year-old Trenton man wanted for allegedly injuring an officer has been spending his recent days at the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
Deyron J. Gay drove off when an officer attempted to detain him at the Tullytown Walmart on Tuesday, November 20. The officer suffered cuts and bruises and Gay made off before later being arrested after an arrest warrant was issued, according to court papers.

Police said they were called to the store by Walmart staff for a possible theft in progress and an officer directed Gay toward the theft prevention office. While the sitting on a bench, Gay got up and allegedly ran.
An officer gave chase and followed Gay to a Hyundai. The doors were locked by Gay and he refused to listen after the officer directed him to do so, police said.
The officer used his expandable baton and smashed out the vehicle’s window, grabbing onto Gay, police said.

Gay sped up and dragged the officer a short distance before the lawman fell off, police said.
In court papers, police noted that Gay sped through the parking lot that was packed at the time.

Gay is suspected of taking more than $600 from Walmart during previous thefts, police said.
Gay was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, retail theft, theft, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, and several driving-related offenses. He also is facing charges in an unrelated Middletown theft case.
According to court records, Gay is awaiting preliminary hearings while behind bars on 10 percent of $500,000 bail for the Tullytown incident and 10 percent of $20,000 bail for the Middletown case.
