Penndel police said they were called on November 3 to the Mill Creek Apartments in the borough for a reported domestic assault involving an armed person. Upon arrival, responding officers found Vasquez’s ex-girlfriend in the parking lot holding a bloody knife. She said the knife was used by Vasquez.

The woman said Vasquez had two knives when he locked the door to prevent her from leaving. He also reportedly said he wanted to get back together with her, according to court papers.

Vasquez’s ex-girlfriend was able to distract the 60-year-old man long enough to make it to the apartment door. A struggle took place and Vasquez sustained a laceration to his hand, police said.

The woman was able to escape the apartment and call 9-1-1.

Following the incident, Vasquez attempted to hang himself, police said.

While he was not the apartment when officers arrived, Vasquez was found later at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown where he was receiving medical and mental health treatment, police said.

After he was treated, Vasquez was released to the custody of Penndel officers for processing and arraignment.

The 60 year old was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $100,000.
