A Falls Township mother is accused of leaving her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son home alone unsupervised for at least 24 hours.

Police said they received a call on August 3 at 8:19 p.m. from a resident in the Village of Pennbrook Apartments on Mill Creek Road for a well-being check. An officer was responded and talked to a resident who received a knocked on the door from a 9-year-old girl who was carrying three backpacks.

Detectives picked up the case and learned that the children’s mother – Sarah Amanda Grace, 28 – had left her elementary school-aged kids home alone unsupervised for at least 24 hours, police said.

Cell phone records showed Grace had traveled from Falls Township to Trenton at noon on August 2. She also traveled to Princeton, New Jersey, and then to Delaware, which she did not leave until August 3 at 10 p.m. The cell phone stopped recording data at 11:59 p.m. on August 3 and Grace was not yet home, police said.

She was charged recently with endangering the welfare of children. District Judge Jan Vislosky arraigned Grace and she was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
