A 40-year-old Middletown man has been charged with aggravated assault and other offenses following an incident late last month.
According to court papers, a female resident of Danby Way in the Langhorne section of the township said the 40-year-old man, her estranged son-in-law, showed up at her house shortly after her daughter and young grandkids showed up on Halloween evening. She said the 40 year old entered her home uninvited and began arguing with her and her husband, who told him to the leave the home.

In court papers, police allege that the 40-year-old man pushed his estranged father-in-law, causing him to fall to the ground.
The 40-year-old man’s estranged father-in-law was taken to St. Mary Medical Center and found to have a broken hip. He required immediate surgery, police said.
Another witness told police the 40-year-old man stormed into the home and made a scene before pushing his father-in-law. He then left the home.

An officer spoke with the 40-year-old man via phone and he refused to give a statement. He added that he needed to consult with his attorney.
The 40-year-old man was arraigned following the incident on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, defiant trespass, harassment, and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned by an on-call district judge and jailed on 10 percent of $1 million bail.

At the time of the Middletown incident, the 40-year-old man was free on $1,000 bail from a late September criminal trespass case from Northampton, court records stated.
