Tullytown police were working Monday evening to track down the driver who appeared to purposely run down seagulls in the parking lot of the borough’s largest shopping area.

The killing was reported to borough police Sunday morning when a driver in an older SUV allegedly ran down the seagulls that often congregate in the parking lot of the Levittown Town Center shopping area off Levittown Parkway.

The Bucks County Courier Times quoted professional wildlife trapper Bill Kurko as stating he found nine dead birds and four injured ones. The injured birds later died.

“As soon as I pulled up, the first words out of my mouth were ‘This is not an accident,’” Kurko told the newspaper.

Police Chief Daniel Doyle said his department obtained video of the seagull massacre and will chase down leads on Tuesday.
