Firefighters Free Man After Pickup Hits Tree

Firefighters spend more than 40 minutes freeing a man after a crash on I-295 in Middletown.

Crews were called shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday to the eastbound lanes just past the Woodbourne Road overpass for the pickup truck that went off the roadway and ended up tangled with a tree.

Firefighters removed the man from the vehicle and the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad rushed him to the hospital. Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Assistant Chief Joe Taylor, who is also the mayor of Langhorne, said the man was conscious.

Firefighters from the Penndel, Parkland, Newtown, and William Penn fire companies assisted Langhorne-Middletown crews.
