Officials closed of a portion of Haines Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section Wednesday.
The township noted on social media that “road failure” led to the indefinite closure of the roadway between busy Route 13 and Junewood Drive. Businesses in the area remain open to the public.

Heavy concrete barriers blocked a section of roadway that goes over the Delaware Canal. Neighbors examined a slightly sagging section of the right lane that was surrounded by small cracks in the early evening. Below the road surface, a metal pipe carries the canal water to the other side.
