Four past governors and the state’s current leader will come together at Pennsbury Manor in Falls Township next month.
The historic site along the Delaware River will have Gov. Tom Wolf along with former governors Tom Corbett, Ed Rendell, Mark Schweiker and Tom Ridge on September 29 for an afternoon panel. The forum will be introduced by State Sen. Tommy Tomlinson and moderated by Bristol Borough’s Bill Pezza. Former governor Dick Thornburgh is not able to attend.

The event is a first of its kind for Pennsbury and one of the rare occasions that the majority of the former living governors will be together in one place, said Doug Miller, the director of Pennsbury Manor.
The leaders will “discuss and shine the figurative spotlight on the gubernatorial challenge of balancing the needs of a diverse demographic, religious, cultural, and environment-conscious Commonwealth,” according to an event invitation.
Single tickets cost $185 and pairs can be purchased for $350. The event is capped at 400 attendees. Click here to purchase tickets.

Miller explained how William Penn, a prominent Quaker, served as Pennsylvania’s first governor.
This year marks the 300th anniversary of Penn’s death.

A portion of the program’s proceeds will go to create a “William Penn Scholarship Fund” for Title 1 schools to visit the estate.
