A $67,000 grant will help Middletown plan for the future.
The township recently was awarded the funds from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) and will have to provide a roughly $10,000 match, officials said.

Board of Supervisors Chairperson Amy Strouse said the money will be used to “reboot” the comprehensive plan for the municipality, which currently dates back to the 1990s.
Moving forward, the township will work to get a plan in place that will involve economic development, community growth, and future residential and commercial development.
Township staff, elected officials, and the Planning Commission will provide input for the new plan, Township Manager Stephanie Teoli Kuhls said.

Strouse said the township will talk to its neighbors to see where they can work together.
“It should be a very nice thing to have a comprehensive plan to guide development for the future of the township,” Teoli Kuhls said.

The money awarded to Middletown by the DVRPC was part of $1.8 million provided for 23 projects in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Chalfont Borough was the only other Bucks County town to be awarded.
