The man who allegedly pointed a gun at a Pennsylvania State Police trooper Friday afternoon is a former resident of Croydon.
Philadelphia resident Anthony Harvey Bupp, 23, who has previous addresses in Bristol Township and Morrisville, was arraigned late Friday night by on-call District Judge Daniel Baranoski on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a firearm without a license, and several related offenses.

According to state police, Bupp was the passenger in a Dodge Charger that was pulled over for a traffic violation by the Wawa in the 3600 block of Street Road in Bensalem around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
As a trooper tried to pat him down for weapons, Bupp ran away and the trooper gave chase, state police said.
In court papers, the trooper noted that Bupp pulled a handgun and continued to flee, eventually losing the pursuing lawman.

No shots were fired.
Additional troopers and officers from Bensalem and surrounding departments responded to the scene and began a search for Bupp. A K-9 unit was used to track the 23 year old.

Bupp, according to state police, hid in a nearby backyard and was located after a resident spotted him.
The 23 year old advised officers of where he discarded the gun he had previously carried, state police said.
Bupp allegedly told investigators he pointed the gun at Trooper Mohamad Saloukha with the idea of “slowing him down.”

Over the years, Bupp has had interactions from police agencies from Bristol Township to Newtown Township. He currently has a pending citation for public drunkenness in Bristol Township and a warrant on charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment out of East Norriton in Montgomery County.
Bupp was held in the Bucks County Correctional Facility as of Saturday afternon on 10 percent of $3 million bail.

The driver and the dark gray Dodge Charger with a red or maroon trunk and a temporary Florida license tag T207777 disappeared while the trooper was chasing Bupp.
