A homeless man who recently was released from prison will be spending time back in it after police allege he robbed a bank Monday afternoon.

Tullytown police said they arrested Justin Blake McCann, 36, at the Villager Lodge on Route 13 in Bristol Township Tuesday after receiving numerous tips from the public, including LevittownNow.com readers.

McCann is accused of walking into the Wells Fargo Bank branch at the Levittown Town Center and passing a demand note to a teller before making off with about $1,800 in cash.

Police said McCann walked near a number of parked cars and made his way into the nearby Walmart following the robbery. He meandered through the store before eventually leaving.

It was not immediately clear why McCann was in prison just last week, but he does have a criminal record, including previous convictions for retail theft and a 2013 Bristol Township carjacking.

McCann was charged with two counts of robbery and single counts of theft and receiving stolen property. He was arraigned Tuesday evening and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $900,000 bail.
